Inside the Bird’s Nest: Etchings from my Women’s Studio Workshop Residency
Etchings, birds nests, and holiday sales…
Getting all of my art in a row, as they say, for the holiday 2016 season has been occupying most of my time this November. I’ve been focusing a lot on feather paintings, but I’ve also gotten a couple of requests to see the etchings that I have for sale from my September residency at the Women Studio Workshop. During the residency I disassembled a birds nest, examined and counted all the pieces, and then chose nine pieces that represent each of the materials found in the nest to create a portrait of. Below are the nest and those nine pieces. I didn’t get a chance to take amazing photos so the backgrounds have some different tints, but other than that they are a good depiction.
