Upcoming Events And New Work In The Aftermath Of Sandy

Upcoming events and new work in the aftermath of Sandy

Things have been very busy around here—hence the lack of updates on this blog! This past week I’ve been preparing one last dye workshop for next weekend before the winter really kicks in as well as getting work ready for Group Show #4 at the Wired Gallery in High Falls. The opening is this weekend, Saturday November 10th from 5pm to 7pm at 1415 State Route 213, “Uptown” High Falls. It is right across the street from Nectar Imports, another great part of the arts community in the area. Be sure to come to the opening— if it is anything like the last one it will be a great night full of community, friends, fun, and amazing artwork. I will be showing a quilt (you will just have to come to see which one!) and two smaller silkscreens. I’m looking forward to seeing what else is up and meeting some awesome artists! If you want to carpool and are coming from the New Paltz/Gardiner area I would be glad to give a ride to whoever will fit in the car. : )

Meanwhile I’ve also been finding the time to create a submission for Team Love RavenHouse Gallery’s call for entries for their upcoming Diorama show! I still have to submit it, but either way I’ve got a great new addition to my most recent series. The idea of a diorama and my interpretation of it is a step in a new and welcome addition and will go wonderfully with the two dimensional quilt-type pieces I’ve been working on. Here are some sneak previews.

Be sure to keep a look out for the info for the next dye class! It will be this saturday, but I am waiting to get the address so I will have to post it later. Until then enjoy this beautiful day!
