Learning to Weave with Vines

Each month I am so grateful to get to meet with an amazing group of women and share with them all aspects of making baskets with plants. From the spiritual to the technical, we are covering it all. And that includes the ins and outs of yanking grapevines out of trees! July’s focus was on harvesting vines and beginning to weave large baskets. We started out with conversation and lots of questions (plus finishing the rims on our woven bark baskets from last month). Grapevine was our main focus, but we also harvested some bittersweet and virginia creeper. Without further ado here are some photos from our absolutely gorgeous summer day!
